Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

!! Animania 2007 !!

Listening to: Bleach OPs and EDs
Watching: Bleach
Eating: chocolate
Drinking: APPLE JUICE <3

Animania really, really delivered it this year!!

The overall cosplay quality was excellent and there were so many fantastic skits (I feel sorry for the groups who didn't win an award, they would have won any other year

). The One Piece skit was just fantastic!! I'm not a OP fan but I still screamed like a fangirl

Then there's the Suzumi Haruhi group who did a perfect live-version of the dance

The giant Naruto group also completely blew me over >w<

The personal highlight for me was singing at the karaoke final- it was just overwhelming (I still feel the fluffiness inside me

). I just finished watching a recording of it (thanks so much for that!! ^^), and although I sound rather awful at a few places... I am still really thrilled, to be able to sing on the Town Hall stage >////< (hope to improve next year!! ><!!) Not to mention I met so many lovely people backstage- I just LOVE the sense of community at Animania (the ultimate gathering of us anime geeks! XD)

And then, the award for cosplay- that totally shocked me

I really, REALLY didn't expect it!!! But more than the award itself, the random people who cheered and came to congratulate me were what really made me happy

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! I LOVE YOU ALL >///<

And then, and then!!! the announcement for Australia to enter the World Cosplay Summit! (FINALLY!!!) We're finally moving on to international stage!! How awesome is that!!

It means the cosplay quality will just escalate next year!! That really is something to look forward to ^____^

So, in summary: WHEE!! The price for Animania was totally worth it this year XDDD (after all my complaints at its priceyness

) I had a really good time!! Can't wait till next year!! >w<

WCS gets me excited, but considering they're saying we'll need to make two costumes (probably a 3rd too, if you win) by next animania... well... I doubt I'll have the skill+time for it x_X ... Not to mention there's so much awesome competition out there XD You won't consider entering? XD
